"The first time I heard Inta Kalna's poetry, I was overwhelmed by a surreal feeling - it's about me! And that's the thing that so many people think like that, isn't it? His poems are like a conversation with a good friend - they comfort, encourage, sometimes they also tell the harsh truth, and the most important thing - never lie" - That's what singer Ieva Sutugova says about poetry in Inta Kalna's book "I speak seriously".
Ints Kalns, real name Aivis Liepiņš, was born in 1972 in Sigulda. He chose his creative pseudonym - Ints Kalns - due to the phonetic similarity with Inčukalna, which is the poet's native region.
The first poems were written while he was still at school, but his creative work has been active in the last 10 years, when his songs, performed by Andras Daniļenko, Daiņas Skuteļas and Kaspars Markševics, found their listeners through Latvijas Radio 2, and the poems published on Internet sites found their readers. Int considers poetry and music to be his main muses.
Inta Kalna's first book of poetry is the author's journey through time, space and feelings in order to search and find important life values and insights. There is a lot of sincerity and love in Inta Kalna's poetry, which allows her to be safely counted among the modern romantics.
